Demetrio Eames, grandson of Charles and Ray Eames and current Director of the Eames Office, officially opened last night the exhibition on the work of his grandparents that will be open from today 13 until next January 31 at the headquarters of the Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid.
The exhibition, jointly organized by Vitra and the Ied, take the opportunity to celebrate the centenary of Charles Eames (1907-1978) to gather original pieces, prototypes and experimental models that are distributed in seven spaces from the materials with which they were made: plywood, plastic, aluminum, wire…
The designs are presented with an unconventional description of their construction that allows you to see all the elements that make up each of the pieces. With these models you can understand the complex development process that finally gave rise to the famous furniture today.
If you want to see it, it will be at the Altamira Palace, C / Flor Alta nº8, from December 13 to January 31, from 10 am to 8 pm.
